Hi, my name's Liz,
I make hand-thrown, unique ceramics in the heart of Suffolk. My products are domestic wares; I hope that they will be a pleasure to handle and will bring joy to the table.
I have been fascinated with clay since I was a child. Its malleability in my hands; how it can hold a shape, retain a pattern, even a fingerprint - forever.
These days I enjoy the mesmeric aspect of the potter's wheel, losing myself in the process. Each new ball of clay a fresh opportunity to simultaneously release and capture the clay's potential.
In my workshop I surround myself with pictures and pots by great craftspeople. Their work, techniques and traditions inspire me. Progress comes through practice and reflection - an ongoing cycle as surely as the wheel keeps turning.
I live and work on a smallholding in Suffolk. The seasons call for a variety of hands-on tasks, which hopefully result in home-grown food being carried into the kitchen. What better way to celebrate it than with hand-crafted utensils.
